Hello All!

Hello All!

I have spent the last hour reading a number of your posts. I cannot believe how courageous you all are. I read your posts and wonder if I will have the strength to preserver.

Our journey and experience with the RFP to date is relatively new. Our first appointment was in August last year and we spent the first part of the fall going through testing. The conclusion at the end of the testing was that I have PCOS (which was what I figured prior to arriving at the RFP). We have been trying to conceive for three years (I am 33) and I feel like I have tried everything natural (homeopathic, acupuncture, diet, exercise, you name it - and counselling). My biggest challenge is a regular period and ovulating. In the last four months, I have had a regular period and ovulated twice which is a big step but this month everything is off again and my frustration level is rising. I am exhausted with this whole process and I am really fighting with turning to drug therapy as a next step (mostly fear is holding me back as in the past I have had a lot of challenges with prescription drug side effects).

The RFP has recommended Prometrium and Clomid as next steps. I have read a lot about the negative side effects of Clomid but I am curious as to whether anyone has any success stories taking Clomid or experience/insights with taking Prometrium.

I am not sure I will have a lot of advice or insights to provide many of you but if I can share anything that may help I will. I am grateful for all your information sharing. Thanks!

Welcome!

Sometimes we don't need input, just the knowledge that we're not alone in this. I just got my referral back to RFP so I'll likely be starting Clomid again soon. As much as I tried to fight it and think we could do it on our own, its been four months and nothing but BFNs. (I know four months isn't that long, but I'm 38 and we were unsuccessful for three years last time!)

I can relate to many words in your post.....exhaustion, frustration, fighting drug therapy. I’m with ya! I’m currently on CD 1....and we all know what that means....I made it through the 2WW with only a few extra gray hairs....and here we go again.

So good luck! And let us know if you have any questions! Collectively, we know everything!
