Leslie Ring-Adams -- Ciara McNiff

Leslie Ring-Adams

Leslie has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine since 2000. After graduating from the International College of TCM in Vancouver, Leslie became a Registered Acupuncturist and practices both acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Since 2001, Leslie has been gradually increasing her main focus in reproductive health, gynecology and obstetrical disorders; her primary focus is treating infertility and she works closely with those undergoing Assisted Reproductive Technologies (IUI, IVF). Her passion has led her to pursue a research project testing acupuncture as an adjunct to in vitro fertilization.

Leslie is also trained as a Doula - a labour and delivery support person. She combines her acupuncture skills with her Doula training in the delivery room to assist with the birthing process.

Leslie is committed to the continuation of her education and has acquired additional skills and training in Motor Point Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture, and advanced Obstetrical and Gynecology training.

In 2004, Leslie was honoured to be included in 'Calgary Inc.' magazine's sixth annual "Top 40 Under 40".

Ciara McNiff

Upon graduation from the University of Calgary, Ciara travelled to Suriname, South America to volunteer for a community development organization. It was during this time that Ciara found her passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine. During her stay, she studied with local health practitioners, who shared with her generations of knowledge that was passed down to them from their teachers. Her studies included: herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reiki, massage therapy and Shiatsu massage. After eight months, Ciara returned to Canada to begin four years of study in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria BC. During this time, Ciara worked as a massage therapist at a local spa.

In 2006, Ciara moved to Calgary where she worked in an inter-disciplinary clinic as a Registered acupuncturist. Her time here allowed her the opportunity to work with and learn from many different practitioners. Incorporating both acupuncture and herbal medicine, her practice was established with a focus ranging from female and male fertility, to gynecological and obstetrical care.

Ciara believes in the pursuit of knowledge and learning from great teachers. Her post graduate studies have taken her across Canada and into the U.S. to learn from experts such as Miki Shima, Debra Betts, and Jane Lyttleton. This year Ciara will be furthering her education around the healing benefits of nutrition and homeopathy. She has recently expanded her practice to benefit and further her knowledge of assisted reproductive techniques and fertility with an interest on male fertility.

Ciara is also trained in the Chinese medical technique of facial rejuvenation acupuncture, a non-surgical face lift, where beauty is established by working on the whole person.

Ciara lives in Calgary with her husband and daughter. Together they share a passion for exploring the endless beauty of the Alberta outdoors.
